At Neue Materialien Bayreuth GmbH (NMB), we research innovative materials and processes for the products of tomorrow – always with a focus on sustainability, quality, and industrial feasibility.

You want to …

  • strategically, technically, and organizationally lead and continuously develop the Additive Manufacturing competence area
  • lead, motivate, and provide targeted professional development for a team of experts
  • establish innovative additive manufacturing processes for plastics and metals and transition them into industrial applications
  • acquire, manage, and successfully complete research and development projects—both publicly funded and industrial
  • actively shape the strategic direction of the competence field based on market, technology, and trend analyses
  • take responsibility for budget planning, control, and resource allocation
  • acquire and support national and international industry and research partners and further develop these relationships
  • communicate research results through technical publications, presentations, conferences, and industrial applications
  • actively promote company-wide collaboration and further develop structures and processes
  • report directly to senior management

 

You have …

  • a successfully completed degree in engineering or the natural sciences (e.g., materials science, materials engineering, polymer science, mechanical engineering), ideally with a Ph.D. or industry experience
  • extensive experience in the additive manufacturing of plastics and metals
  • strong knowledge of materials analysis, component testing, and process understanding
  • proven experience in leading R&D projects and in securing external funding
  • leadership experience or a clear motivation to take on leadership responsibilities
  • strength in entrepreneurial thinking and organization, as well as strong implementation and decision-making skills
  • enjoyment of strategic work while maintaining a close connection to experimental research
  • a motivating personality with a focus on scientific excellence and management
  • excellent communication, presentation, and networking skills in German and English
